We liked the pronounced “family” ambience of this residence which is not the slightest bit stuffy. On the Southern Burgundy wine road, close to Viré hill, we appreciated the Domain’s cosy atmosphere, and Caroline and Jean-Christophe’s attentive welcome. Five years ago, Jean-Christophe decided to live in his great-grandfather’s house, nestling in the grounds amongst century-old trees, and to restore all the rooms. He succeeded in preserving the property’s original character, furnishing it with family heirlooms and antiques, such as the splendid French billiard table in the entry hall. Upstairs, set along the red-chalk coated walls of the hallway, the five bedrooms are named after fruits. This is the perfect venue for a family weekend, with extra beds in most of the rooms, horses on the property, and the owners’ three children to play with!
Our favourite bedroom is the “Chataigne” decorated in tones of soft dove greys and light browns. Rates: from Euro 65 to 100 for two including breakfast (plus Euro 15 for each extra guest)
